Trip to Napoli :)

Welcome everyone to our wonderful trip to Napoli :) crazy driver's, colourful and passionate italian's, lots of Cultura, mangiare (eating). We did many kilometres walking around the city in the heat, looking at only a few of the sites, so I hope you get a taste of this wonderful city!
There is so much history!

We stopped for a late lunch, as it was very hot and you cannot go to Napoli without having Pizza,

Sophia and Toto are well known names in Napoli, and adorn many walls of restaurants, including this cute one we had lunch, two of us, pizza and a drink for 10 euro. Can't get much better than that!

My pizza! Lol well, my buffalo mozzarella :)

After a very long day, we finally made it back to Caiazzo :) very antiquated rail system here, especially after Naples, but we are back in one piece xx

A nice night rest tonight and tomorrow we are off to Caserta to the Palace, I have already posted some pics of this, but will take some more in next blog. Until next blog, lots of love to you all xxxxx.

Amalfi Coast!

Second day of our holiday in Italy and we are off to the Amalfi Coast :) what a magical place, we melted in the heat, but thankfully were saved by having a well deserved lemon granita in Ravello as well as a nice meal, looking out onto the busy square, watching the world go by! The roads were narrow and the occasional tour bus got stuck coming around the windy coastal roads. The following pics, don't do this Coast justice, it simply is one of the most amazing places that I have visited in my travels and I most certainly will go back again, maybe when it's a bit cooler!

The start of our trip, I was totally amazed with the grape vines up most of the steep hills on the way to Amalfi.

Minori was our first stop for a few pics :)

Climbing up higher and higher, we made it to a little place called Ravello, where we stopped for lunch and a nice Lemon Granita, which on a hot day like today, was rather good!

This was a cute little shop, next to the restaurant where we stopped for lunch, I loved everything lemon :) I could have bought heaps, but with the 20kg limit on Giac's case, I knew I would be battling to get anything else in, amongst the cheese, sausages, dry bread and lapino!

This Gelato melted as fast as we did, sitting here in the semi shade! But it was yum!

Interesting Architecture.

Long long way up!salute

Salute!

I had Risotto and Giacomo had Gnocci :)

Pick the scot! Lol

Yes darling, it's Roman :)

Loved this dude in the Lemon apron :) They approach marketing differently here in Italy lol

Yes I did walk those steps in the blistering heat, please note Giacomo I DID prove my love for you, you said if I loved you, i would have to prove it by walking these steps! It was worth it in the end, a very nice abbey :) it's about the extent of my walking up stairs for the day though, don't push it! Lol

In the Cloister square.

Inside abbey.

Love lemons in hot weather!

I absolutely loved this shop and it just felt so cool inside, something about the citris fruits and lemons and limoncello :)

Italiano style :)

We had a wonderful day along the Coast and ending in Sorrento, after it starting to get dark, we finally made our way out of the city towards Napoli onto the motorway back to Caiazzo for a well deserved rest, chat with family (famiglia) xxx

Next blog stop tomorrow is Pompeii :)
