Hello to my beautiful family and friends xxx I am so very sorry for the delay in my blogs in the past couple of months, I have been skint and unable to send my usual lengthy weekly blog :( As most of you know the dilemma i have had with deciding to stay or to come home!
Well it has been taken out of my hands! As some of you know I have had three weeks work with the local authority (The Mendip District Council, working in the Environmental Health Department, in their Compliance Department) which I was truly grateful for but now even more exciting news, is that I have now been offered a full time, permanent position! I will be working once again in the Funeral Industry :) I will be working for a sister company of Forsey and Sons, which is called W J Trotman. I will be employed as a Secretary, but those of us who have worked in the industry, we know, it becomes, much, much more! The set up reminds me a lot of Medina in size, and is about to be all done up, to be in line with the office's in Glastonbury, so that will be nice.
I can't tell you how excited I am about now :) To actually know that I have a job and I can start to plan my journey, the one I came over here to start! I have stability in a job and now I can look for a new place, nearby, for a room. I know I won't have the beautiful flat that I have had for 17 months, but it's all relative, i will be just as happy in a lovely room in a shared house, it's about finding and exploring new friends now and I'm open to new possibilities.
It is new, new, new in every aspect of my life, right now, new job, new flat or house share, new car ( my old one is no more :( long story, but basically, it wasn't worth the money it was going to take to fix it :( so my insurance company have written it off! In the meantime, I'm driving a hire car around!
So firstly, I need to get myself packed up and out of the flat, by next Friday, whilst staying at work all week! Carpets cleaned Thursday - check, window cleaner coming Friday morning - check, hopefully by Thursday morning I will have all my stuff out of the flat mostly, might have to sleep on the kitchen floor on the mat and blow up mattress :) so the carpets can dry! I have all my food and utensils out on the table at the moment. Going to ask the neighbours if they might want any tomorrow :) then it's pack the car up with stuff I don't need, pack up my bed and wrap up mattress and slide down the stairs, hopefully I will have somewhere to store it, or be able to sell or give it away! Then it's only the rug and down to the last few clothes in the wardrobe for work this week, food for the week and each night I can wash another window inside and tidy some more each day :) I can't believe that I have accumulated so much stuff already! If I had to fly home, I would have had to get rid of heaps! I did sell my couch, my TV, my microwave, coffee table and nest of tables. I have someone coming for tomorrow for a tripod. Just the bed and the crockpot now to sell and my table in the kitchen, if the don't go this week, they will be going to charity.
I have had a nice couple of week ends lately, one in particular, was when I went for a walk with my neighbour Rani and we picked wild Blackberries :) we ducked in and out of lanes, missing the prickly bushes to get to the fruit, carrying our doc leaf incase we got got stung by the nettles! Trying to look like we were just inspecting the flowers as we passed by, but in fact we were the serious blackberry pickers with, kitchen glad bags with ziplock tops to keep them from leaking everywhere, so you could quickly stash the evidence inside our handbag's, as we were confronted by a farmer coming by on his tractor. (Sure he knew what we were up to! Lol)
On this inspection of the flora and fauna, look what I found, or should I say, Rani found! I photographed :)
It was basking in the sun :)
The results of a day's harvest, I must say they tasted pretty darn good!
September was a good month for visitors and one very special friend from Perth, was my dear friend Cathy :) with whom I use to work with at Bowra's. She came over for a month's holiday, where she was heading down to The Isles of Scilly, where she lived as a child and she also had a bank reunion in Wales I think. I loved seeing her and here she is with one of her friends from school day's, Malcolm, who lives not that far from me, in Somerset, so invited them both for dinner that night and a good night was had, a few drinks and a few good laugh's :)
Cheers Cathy :)
My next few pics are of a gorgeous place Rani and I discovered, when we were looking for somewhere for me to move to. It was in a little village called Nunney. I loved the place! These pics don't do it justice, I'm afraid, we had a great day wandering around the Nunney Castle, which was build in the 14th Century, was owned by a Frenchman and it was eventually cannoned. It was a small castle, more like someone's home, small moat around the castle, but it was very fascinating.
Just a few old places around the streets of Nunney
Ruins of Nunney Castle
This castle was built in the 1370's but of course some graffiti from 1865 still exists!
Looking up through one of the tower's
Yes I can see you Rani :)
Now these pics below are from last weekend I believe, could have been the weekend before, we went into Wells for our normal cruise around the Market's and on our way back to the car park, we were walking past St Cuthbert's Chapel and a wedding was happening, lots of people milling around. Outside the church were these beautiful horses :) with their purple plumes. They were so calm and handled all the people, patiently waiting for the bride and groom, as they had their photo's taken in the grounds of the Chapel. I had to smile, the male horse, just quietly snorted and was tapping his hoof against the road, as if to say, come on, enough now, I want to go!
It was so romantic - this carriage, sort of expected to see Cinderella, stepping down tp from it :)
Wells is such an interesting place :) I'm finding more and more places now around the mendips which is near where I currently live. Today I drove out to Cranmore, which is just the other side of Shepton Mallet, which is just through a lovely village called Doulting, which is just near where my new work will be :) I found a really great pub at Cranmore today and the young guy behind the bar was ever so helpful, he gave me all these names of places close by to look for rooms, can see me going back there :) it was much like Nunney, but quiter. I think I need to be around a bit more social activity now, be nice to wander down to the pub for Sunday lunch :) and then walk home :)
Well that is about all the news I have at the moment, I will have photos soon of my new job, new colleagues at work, new home and car, so hopefully a bit more interesting things on the horizon now.
Sending my love to you all, a special big hug to Janet in Darlington xxx I hope your feeling better soon and I'm thinking of you xx A belated birthday to my sister Suzie xx I hope you got my card, might be able to buy you a gift now :)
Until next blog xxxxxx
