Moving in to my new place!

Well hello to all :) it has been a busy three weeks, with me getting settled into my new work. I now am officially working in the Funeral industry again, have to say that I'm happy to be back in the industry again! It seems that I was meant to continue on in the field, I started in 8 years ago. I do feel a little bit like a fish out of water still, as there are things I don't know here, that I knew well in Oz and I have made a few slip ups, still learning things, but I guess I will feel better when I have things down pat, like I once did!

I have finally found a new place to live :) I have been staying with my neighbour for a few weeks since, I moved out of my flat, so that has been a huge help, as I had a few set back's initially with a couple of places that didn't come about in Wells. I finally found a room last week, and will be moving in totally tomorrow. I no longer will be living in Somerset, I now will be residing in Wiltshire :) For those who want to know of a landmark nearby, look for the White Horse, (chalk) in the mountainside in the middle of Wiltshire. I will be on the other side of Frome, so Lita, if your reading this, I'm not too far away from there :) I am about a 17 min walk to the nearest train station, which I am very pleased a out, means I can get I to Bath and Bristol, nice and quick and if I want a weekend in London, for a show, it's just over two hours away :) just over £45 to London return, so that's a bit better than what it was from Castle Cary, from where we had to go previously.

Just before moving out, I had a bit of a send off, with all my neighbour's, so that was nice :) we had nice weather and were able to sit under the big cedar tree near the pond and have a few drinks. It has been a lovely time here, but I feel time for me to move on now. I will be happy to move on now to my new place, which is just a room, in someone's home in Westbury Leigh, just past Frome. Moving in with a lovely lady and her Mum.

Neighbours giving me a send off :)

We're heading into a beautiful autumn now, all the leaves are falling and it looks pretty most of the time, apart from when the wind and rain decide to visit. I will be planning a couple of weekend trips, once I am settled and I have paid for bills, after the move, bought the new car etc. I would love to do something for my birthday, or even towards Christmas time, I hope that I get to be with some people around that time. I miss the kids, hopefully I will be able to get some time off! Today is my older sister Shirley's birthday, Happy birthday Shirley xxx I hope you have had a lovely day out today at Our House :) hope the gave you something special for your birthday :) I hope my card and parcel arrived on time! I hope to ring either this weekend or next, to catch the family for all the birthdays xx My young brother, Steve, turning the big 50 as well! It's all happening this year, sad in a way that I'm not there, but I'm sure they will celebrate on my behalf! Love to you all!
Well I'm off to bed now moving tomorrow, so need my sleep! Will have some pics of new place and hopefully new car and work pics next week or two!
Love to you all, until next blog xxxx

Hoorayyyyy! it's official, I have permanent work :)

Hello to my beautiful family and friends xxx I am so very sorry for the delay in my blogs in the past couple of months, I have been skint and unable to send my usual lengthy weekly blog :( As most of you know the dilemma i have had with deciding to stay or to come home!

Well it has been taken out of my hands! As some of you know I have had three weeks work with the local authority (The Mendip District Council, working in the Environmental Health Department, in their Compliance Department) which I was truly grateful for but now even more exciting news, is that I have now been offered a full time, permanent position! I will be working once again in the Funeral Industry :) I will be working for a sister company of Forsey and Sons, which is called W J Trotman. I will be employed as a Secretary, but those of us who have worked in the industry, we know, it becomes, much, much more! The set up reminds me a lot of Medina in size, and is about to be all done up, to be in line with the office's in Glastonbury, so that will be nice.

I can't tell you how excited I am about now :) To actually know that I have a job and I can start to plan my journey, the one I came over here to start! I have stability in a job and now I can look for a new place, nearby, for a room. I know I won't have the beautiful flat that I have had for 17 months, but it's all relative, i will be just as happy in a lovely room in a shared house, it's about finding and exploring new friends now and I'm open to new possibilities.

It is new, new, new in every aspect of my life, right now, new job, new flat or house share, new car ( my old one is no more :( long story, but basically, it wasn't worth the money it was going to take to fix it :( so my insurance company have written it off! In the meantime, I'm driving a hire car around!

So firstly, I need to get myself packed up and out of the flat, by next Friday, whilst staying at work all week! Carpets cleaned Thursday - check, window cleaner coming Friday morning - check, hopefully by Thursday morning I will have all my stuff out of the flat mostly, might have to sleep on the kitchen floor on the mat and blow up mattress :) so the carpets can dry! I have all my food and utensils out on the table at the moment. Going to ask the neighbours if they might want any tomorrow :) then it's pack the car up with stuff I don't need, pack up my bed and wrap up mattress and slide down the stairs, hopefully I will have somewhere to store it, or be able to sell or give it away! Then it's only the rug and down to the last few clothes in the wardrobe for work this week, food for the week and each night I can wash another window inside and tidy some more each day :) I can't believe that I have accumulated so much stuff already! If I had to fly home, I would have had to get rid of heaps! I did sell my couch, my TV, my microwave, coffee table and nest of tables. I have someone coming for tomorrow for a tripod. Just the bed and the crockpot now to sell and my table in the kitchen, if the don't go this week, they will be going to charity.

I have had a nice couple of week ends lately, one in particular, was when I went for a walk with my neighbour Rani and we picked wild Blackberries :) we ducked in and out of lanes, missing the prickly bushes to get to the fruit, carrying our doc leaf incase we got got stung by the nettles! Trying to look like we were just inspecting the flowers as we passed by, but in fact we were the serious blackberry pickers with, kitchen glad bags with ziplock tops to keep them from leaking everywhere, so you could quickly stash the evidence inside our handbag's, as we were confronted by a farmer coming by on his tractor. (Sure he knew what we were up to! Lol)

On this inspection of the flora and fauna, look what I found, or should I say, Rani found! I photographed :)

It was basking in the sun :)
The results of a day's harvest, I must say they tasted pretty darn good!
September was a good month for visitors and one very special friend from Perth, was my dear friend Cathy :) with whom I use to work with at Bowra's. She came over for a month's holiday, where she was heading down to The Isles of Scilly, where she lived as a child and she also had a bank reunion in Wales I think. I loved seeing her and here she is with one of her friends from school day's, Malcolm, who lives not that far from me, in Somerset, so invited them both for dinner that night and a good night was had, a few drinks and a few good laugh's :)

Cheers Cathy :)

My next few pics are of a gorgeous place Rani and I discovered, when we were looking for somewhere for me to move to. It was in a little village called Nunney. I loved the place! These pics don't do it justice, I'm afraid, we had a great day wandering around the Nunney Castle, which was build in the 14th Century, was owned by a Frenchman and it was eventually cannoned. It was a small castle, more like someone's home, small moat around the castle, but it was very fascinating.

Just a few old places around the streets of Nunney

This castle was built in the 1370's but of course some graffiti from 1865 still exists!

Yes I can see you Rani :)

Now these pics below are from last weekend I believe, could have been the weekend before, we went into Wells for our normal cruise around the Market's and on our way back to the car park, we were walking past St Cuthbert's Chapel and a wedding was happening, lots of people milling around. Outside the church were these beautiful horses :) with their purple plumes. They were so calm and handled all the people, patiently waiting for the bride and groom, as they had their photo's taken in the grounds of the Chapel. I had to smile, the male horse, just quietly snorted and was tapping his hoof against the road, as if to say, come on, enough now, I want to go!

It was so romantic - this carriage, sort of expected to see Cinderella, stepping down tp from it :)

Wells is such an interesting place :) I'm finding more and more places now around the mendips which is near where I currently live. Today I drove out to Cranmore, which is just the other side of Shepton Mallet, which is just through a lovely village called Doulting, which is just near where my new work will be :) I found a really great pub at Cranmore today and the young guy behind the bar was ever so helpful, he gave me all these names of places close by to look for rooms, can see me going back there :) it was much like Nunney, but quiter. I think I need to be around a bit more social activity now, be nice to wander down to the pub for Sunday lunch :) and then walk home :)
Well that is about all the news I have at the moment, I will have photos soon of my new job, new colleagues at work, new home and car, so hopefully a bit more interesting things on the horizon now.
Sending my love to you all, a special big hug to Janet in Darlington xxx I hope your feeling better soon and I'm thinking of you xx A belated birthday to my sister Suzie xx I hope you got my card, might be able to buy you a gift now :)
Until next blog xxxxxx

I'm still here!

Hello my lovelies xxx I am sorry for the lack of blogs for the past few weeks, you might say I hit a rather large speed bump in the road called "life"! I didn't want to bring you all down with me, with my energy being rather flat due to lack of work over the past few weeks!

I have discovered, it's times like this, that you know who your real friends are :) and I have to say I am very blessed to have such beautiful family and friends, you know who you all are xxxx I thank you from the bottom of my heart for noticing my retreat into my cave and reaching out to me and giving me a safe haven to share my worries and it has mad such a difference to the way I'm feeling. Xxxxx

As I have had to trim down the blogs from once a week, to now possibly once every couple of weeks or once a month, until I'm working, I also have had to save my internet connection for my emails and communications to the outside world, as opposed to posting thirty to sixty pics in one sitting! I am sorry for the lack of excitement to my current situation, believe me, I know what I would much rather be doing!

Anyway to keep me sane in all this money pinching and lack of work, I have tried to stay on top of the demons, that try to pull me down with each rejection, of job that I don't get by finding the simple things in life that, make a difference! As some of you might have noticed, on my Facebook, you have been bombarded with my culinary delights of late or not as the case, might be! I can see some of you turning your noses up at my dishes. I am very proud of the fact, that even on a shoe string budget, I have been able to get creative and find time to cook something interesting for myself each day. It's also a way of getting me away from the computer and job applications for a while and it gives me time to chill out and think of my health and well being for a moment, and try and reduce my stress levels, by eating something nice and healthy and something that looks appealing as well.

I have only had a fortnights work in the past month and a half as a Lettings Co-ordinator, I'm about to do another stint there for two weeks, so that will be fun! Jacquie is on leave and I will be spending that time with Andrew, the boss! He will be doing Jacquie's job and I will be doing his job, get to keep his car spot too for the next two weeks, so it looks like, I'll be doing the hill walks again, I will be getting nice and fit again. Wow those hills in Bath are mean!

In the past month, I did however, have a trip to Lacock Abbey with my dear friend and neighbour Rani and we had a beautiful day, wandering throughout this gorgeous Abbey where they filmed Harry Potter, for those of you that love all Harry Potter! It was a full day's walking around the ground's and going to the Abbey and finally going to a cafe and enjoying a peppermint tea after a long walk on quite a warm day! As we are National Trust member's one, it's a great day out and one that doesn't cost us anything, but the petrol for the trip there, maybe a bottle of water on the way, if we haven't packed that already. We set off with a picnic lunch and we often sit in the grounds of one of these lovely place's and enjoy the view and when we have had our lunch, we walk and get our exercise for the day!

Well that's the pics until I have some extra work folks, could be three weeks till next post, but don't give up on me just yet! I could be coming home soon, due to no funds, but whatever the universe has in store for me, I promise I will stay in touch. Xxx love to you all :) xxxx
