Day 1 cont ...... Heathrow to Somerset

Woke up earlier than the alarm today, so decided to get myself organised, do my blog and check out train times and packed case up, showered and went downstairs to check out and thought I would go get some breakfast (not included in room tarrif) I ordered a coffee and cinnamon toast.  As I found the table to sit down, I met a lovely couple (Brian & Di) who were telling me that they were seasoned travellers and were about to head off to Israel.  They were keen Cruise enthusiast's and told me of their many trips, I also told them of a few of mine.  Finally my breakfast arrives and wait for it... Coffee was luke warm and cinnamon toast, was two  rounds of toasted bread, nothing but cinnamon powder on them, nothing else!   Dry as old boots, without anything, not even any butter :(
Got the Hopper 8 to Terminal 1 where I caught the Heathrow Express into Paddinton Station, had about an hour to kill before getting on another train to Castle Carey (which is a station or two before Taunton). I so wish I hadn't brought all that luggage, it is really beginning to weigh me down and the case I bought from Strandbags, well I'm not impressed. I did know better than to come with all this luggage, so note to anyone reading this that is travelling in the future, if your travelling to UK, please pack light! I was very lucky to have a kind signalman at Castle Carey who saw me struggling up the stairs, come take my case and even then he was really struggling!
I rang Ange from the station and decided to get a Hot Chocolate with marshmallows & cream from the Butty Van. The man serving, was very colourful in his head scarf and had enough ink for three people (that was just on his arms!) I'm not a big fan as most would know, but whatever floats your boat as the saying goes, the final turnoff was when I saw him pull out a fag after serving me, when I sat at the station bench (note to self, things can only get better :)
Yayyyyy just saw Ange, Hayley and her man Roman pull up in their car, to come get me :) It was sooooo nice to see them all in the flesh and give them all hugs and kisses, I have really missed them xxxooxxx We all went for a drive to Glastonbury, which was about a half an hour away. Wow Gail, Lyndee, Erin and all my old mates from Sun Moon & Star and at Zodies you would be right in your element here! There is quite a bit of history in this place too, but in this visit,  I don't have time to find out  and explore. Watch this space and I will give you an update, as I'm planning to come back. Jan
I'm going to take you to lots of beautiful crystal places here!
We walked around, up and down both sides of the lane, what an impressive church. Saw the entrance to the Chalice Well and the gardens, Ange and I will have to come back another day. We stopped for coffee at the "in" place and went on our way. Back to Ange's via the huge Tesco store in Shepton Mallet. OMG I have never seen such a massive supermarket in my life, you could get lost in there! I am still comparing prices from Perth to Here and food is definately cheaper here as Helen told me. I saw big punnets of strawberries 2 for 2 pounds (we would sometimes pay $6 or $7 for 1 punnet that size at home! I bought some Somerset Cider :) for £2 made with organic pairs, so that's got to be good for me right? I thought so lol Ange and I will knock that off tonight maybe or some time soon.
Went back to Ange's place, what a lovely place :) so quite and peaceful, surrounded by trees and Ange showed me the unit she was trying to get for me, but it seems that it may not be a available, but there could be another one available upstairs soon, so keeping my fingers crossed! I would actually like to be able to get a job fairly soon before I commit to a flat, but you have to have a permanent
residence before you can get a job, the cycle goes on, but it is all good, I do believe it will all happen!
Had a lovely meal with.Ange, Hayley and Roman, it was so nice to chat and catch up on old times.  I feel very close to them all. Hayley and Roman had driven over from Germany to see Ange, so it was a really special evening. We all walked back to the Oakhill Inn, where I had booked as I knew Hayley and Roman were staying with Ange and they were getting up at 4am to drive back to Germany. I love you guy's but I'm not getting up at 4am! We went up to my room to check it out and said goodnight to  Ange, Hayley & Roman and saw them flashing the torch at me through bedroom window as they wandered down the lane back home :) surprisingly how light it was at 10.30pm outside and yes I was awake at 2am and then 5am and it was light even then.
Finally got up around 5.30/6am as I couldn't go back to sleep. I think I may have had a few residents of the spirit kind trying to keep me awake, not harmful in anyway but just couldn't get to sleep, lots of history in these old buildings!
Now I'm trying to upload a few photo's so please be patient! I have got them uploaded into a web album which I need to do to post them here, next trick is, can I get them to post here? lets see shall we?
