Lyme Regis & Seatown

Hello from Lyme Regis, Dorset :) This Saturday it was a beautiful hot summers day, so I thought, don't have anything else better to do, let's go for a drive. I decided to head down to Dorset and to a coastal village of Lyme Regis which for a Saturday, was a busy little metropolis! First up,I had no idea where I was going to park? It was very hot and for the first time in a very long time, I have a car without airconditioning, didn't think I would have to worry too much over here! So consequently had both windows down and yes I looked a bit "witchy" by the time I took a look in the rear view mirror! It took a couple of car parks and travelling down several steep lanes of the centre of the village before I found another car park which had a few empty bays. Ticket in hand, finally head back to the car and then I set off to tackle the VERY steep hill, a couple of sprays of ventolin, half way up, gave me the chance to actually stop for a breather. I took a couple of shots walking up this road and one when I was at the top of something a little interesting, lets see who notices? :)

Only halfway up the Hillview street :)

For those that don't know this coastline is very famous and is known as Jurassic Coast, many fossils were found in the rocks here going back a very very long time.

Stopped at the top of the hill for a pic in one direction :)

Main street looking down towards the beach.

Still going down (I'm going to have to walk up this later!)

Can see the ocean now, there are some really cute little shops along here, wish my wallet contained a few more pounds and not the moths that are trying to fly out of it at present!

Wow finally down near the beach. I found a Tesco's on the way down and bought a bottle of water and a small chicken wrap for my lunch, headed done to find a nice shady seat, overlooking this beautiful view. I was busy clicking away taking pics and then realised it was nearly 3pm, no wonder I was starving by this time! Sitting on the bench, a got chatting to a really lovely lady by the name of Sue, who had come for a bit of a holiday, she was from Cairns, but not from Aus, but somewhere in Kent, England I think? She straight away commented on my accent, your not from here, you must be Australian! I never thought my accent was that strong, but it seems it is! We had a lovely chat, whilst watching the world go y down before us on the esplanade :) Sue and I said our goodbyes and I decided to go for a walk along the esplanade and maybe go down on the beach. What, NO sand! Lol These pepples take a bit of getting use to! I'm so glad that I have thick sandals on, otherwise I would have loved walking along the beach and not looked so much like a retard! I actually cannot believe my eyes, people actually baking themselves in the hot sun! Melva if your reading this, not a pretty site I can tell you! Some people need to be told I think, there should be a law against fat bellies and budgie smugglers :( After all, you wouldn't see me down here in a bikini, think its only fair, don't you?

Didn't find the fishing trips lol next time

The sea was so calm today :)

Them damn pepples!

When I was chatting with Sue, she told me to head along the coast further, I headed off as I was starting to get a bit tired and headachy. Time for a Bex and a laydown, but alas, I'm not laying on those pepples, like some are! So I head of, omg these hills! By the time I get back to the car, thought I was having a coronary! Sat in the car for a good five to ten mins, just to regain my composure lol

Ok off we go! Where are we going GPS? Don't know the name of the next place? Start heading off, and get lost on a few of the main roads, after going around in circles and finally finding where I wanted to go, I'm suddenly in the tiniest lane in the whole of Britain, even breathing in, doesn't make it any easier to pass!

This is a BIG lane!

Down the end of this long long lane is a little village right on the coast called Seatown. I took some pics, hope you enjoy them, I then decided to stop for a drink at the Inn before heading home to Zommerzet.

Thought this looked interesting!

Well it's home for a rest, see you next post xxxx
