Busy busy!

Hello my beautiful family and friends xxxxoo what a hectic week it has been! Each day this week, I look at myself and still wonder how I managed to make it through the week in one piece. I was so physically and emotionally drained come Friday night, I was still at work at 7.30pm with Mary, my boss, copying all the data for the computer system again after the failed attempt in the morning. Clearing out an office is much the same, if not worse than moving house, not something you want to do too frequently! Co-ordinating it all with Mary has been very interesting, but also very challenging at the same time, not sure it's something I would love doing all the time though!

No sooner had I got home Friday night, had I collapsed on the couch, normally I have a little power nap, but for some reason, It lasted about three hours, I woke up and even the telly had decided to turn itself off lol no wait a minute, it's not 1am, it's actually 2am, have to put the clocks forward, so have lost another hour! I creep around the house, trying not to wake myself up too much, head to bed to try and fall back asleep. Wouldn't you know it my built in body alarm clock, decides it's time to get up at 5am, which was actually 6ish my normal get up for work time. Oh well, I guess it's time for a nice cuppa and I'm cold, so I find my wool hat and gloves ans socks and crawl back into bed, (I have to tell you, not the most desirable look :( I often wonder why I haven't found my beautiful soulmate, perhaps if he were to see me in this get up, he is likely to say, this wasn't in the plan!) I have my nice warm cuppa and then guess who falls back to sleep?

I eventually wake up and have a lovely nice hot shower and hunt in the cupboards and fridge for what might be my brunch :) hmmmm slim pickings, I really need to go shopping, the cupboard and fridge are empty! I manage to find some eggs, found some Almond Milk, and I have some Paleo friendly flour, have a banana, so I make a decision on pancakes :) yummmm I have totally perfected my Paleo recipe and they are very healthy and tasty, they even fluff up this time and as usual, I make too many, so there is another meal there :) I have learnt my lesson, never go shopping on an empty stomach! Not only will you want to eat everything in sight, but you will probably buy double the shopping you intended to buy from your list. Yes I have to have a list, and put the blinkers on, dive into Tesco's for my speciality items, and not be tempted! Today I am heading to my favourite shops in Wells :) will go have a cuppa with my friend's in the sandwich cafe, Rosie and Mick :) I walk down through the markets and thank goodness I ate at home, as the smell of food cooking, is so wonderful, I could have easily treated myself today :) I raid the ATM and head off in the opposite direction, a quick dash to the PoundShop, get a few bargain's :) Got to love the Pound Shop! Thanks to Helen for telling me where to find all the bargains, when you're living on a shoestring! I can cut down on so much, but I Can't cut down on the important things in life, like toilet paper! Lol There is no way I am going to use recycled cardboard! Fortunately the PoundShop has a good dunny paper :)

I head to Lidl for the remainder of he shopping, wonder why every man, woman and child is out shopping the same time as me :( Ah yes, UK Mothers Day tomorrow, I thought there were just a lot of beautiful men buying flowers for their wives or girlfriends. I am going to make a treat this weekend, share it with Ange, so hopefully we can catch up while the rest of Britain is out and about with their mum's tomorrow. I made some Paleo brownies and took some over to Ange' and we had a cuppa and I gave her a container to give to her Mum for Sunday and there were a few left over that we had to just test :) mmmm very nice, if I do say myself. We then sat and relaxed with a cuppa and watched the Voice and suddenly became the experts on the musical world, there are some really good contestants this year. I didn't stay too long, went home and settled in for the night, have planned to go for a drive tomorrow with Ange see her Mum and then go spent the day outside, as the weather is going to be perfect :).

Headed out to see Ange' mum and her partner and when we got there, she had put a roast on and was expecting us for lunch :) what a lovely surprise. We all had a nice chat out in the conservatory over lunch and then after inspecting the front garden and taking a few pics, we headed off for Sherborne.

Ange and her Mum Margaret in her colourful garden :)

Happy Mother's Day :)

Spring is here!

White blossom

Main Street of Sherborne

Now that is old!

The Sherborne Cathedral was amazing, took a lot of pics, inside and out :) reminds me inside of the one in Wells :)

These trees were very interesting, against the back drop of the Cathedral.

This was amazing!

Wouldn't like to paint that ceiling!

Cate, how would you like to play that organ?

Pick what doesn't fit in this pic?

Not your everyday butcher, he has a bike in his shop!

I can see a bit of a queue here lol only joking, they have all been taken inside!

After a good look around Sherborne, we headed up the hill to another lovely village called Montacute, some very cute old buildings, not all turned out. We also looked around the National Trust building, but after discovering that we only had half an hour to see it all and had to pay £16 each we decided that we would leave it for another day. It is actually a far better thing to join up for the National Trust, only pay around £58 per year, so that might be something to look into, when I'm in the money :)

Got to love the pitch on so e of these roofs :) The walls weren't exactly straight either!

Well my lovelies, now that I have bored you with my photography, I will head off to bed. I start work with the Banes Council tomorrow and have to be in at work for a meeting with Mary, before we have our induction as we will have a meeting with the Family Information Services, we have to give them a bit of a briefing of how to cope with all the canals for us, in the transfer, as things will be a little bit up in the air for a while.

When I got to work today, Mary had bought me some flowers :) for all my work Friday and all last week. I am looking at them now, it was a pleasant surprise, thanks Mary.

Off to bed now people, until next post, lots of love to you all xxxxxx

1 week to go at LPW!

Hello to all my lovelies :) Welcome to my week, I hope you all have had a wonderful week? I have had a lovely weekend just gone, spent with my work mate's on Friday night at the Brewer's Bar or whatever it's called lol in Bath, so Lizzie and I went out for dinner first to Yum Yum Thai before heading off to go see our workmates, past and present Reunion :) it was a lovely night and it was especially good as Lizzie and I also spent time with Ali our buddy at work, as it was his last day, so we all spent time together talking and a few staff played table tennis in the back of the marquee. It was a bitter sweet night really, lovely spending time with everyone, but it hit me, I won't see Ali anymore, he won't be there at work on Monday, smiling at me and telling me funny stories as he normally does :( He is such a lovely guy x going to miss you too Ali B xx Hugssss

Ali wearing the "birthday" hat, which We all hated wearing lol, yet he still had a smile for me :)

I'm glad I took these pic's now as Victoria on left is home with her beautiful baby Alice, now Ali has gone and Ceri leaves us this Friday :(

It was so nice to socialise and catch up with Harry and Alex, both whom had left in the last couple of weeks :) Alex is or was my Aussie Buddy from Melbourne :) I think it was timely event after the week we have had, mine has been a bit crazy with the countdown of the closure of work coming down to the wire, with only one more week to go now, loads of things to do, thousand of things to organise, lists as long as my arm! Not enough hours in the day! But on a good note, only one more week of it before the computers go and the phones, I have about 22 bags of shredding to throw out come Tuesday, looks like a mountain of snow shredding in the back room, probably the same amount to come for next week! this coming week is going to be transferring data onto media so that we can take it with us to the Council, so I have already done a test run last week and that went well. We have had to clean up a lot of our files, as we only have a 16gb, but it's a relief to know that it will all work and come together.

It's been a very cold weekend this weekend, lots of Hail and I even thought that we might even get some snow, it had that kind of feel. Seeing as I have turned off my heating, I spent most of the weekend dressed like an Eskimo lol? I hear that Perth were hit with storms too, I hear you had some rain :)

Saturday was shopping day as usual, I decided to go for a change and went into Shepton Mallet and went to this lovely gourmet deli shop that has all my speciality items that I have been finding it hard getting in Lidl or Tesco's. Julie, the owner of Pepper's (which is it's name) was bending over backwards to help me which was great, it seems I won't have to travel all the way to Glastonbury to get what I need now, so may save some petrol. Only problem was, I had a slight problem walking out of the shop, guess who didn't see the "wet paint" on the door :( I had my favourite green cardi on too! They were so apologetic, wanted me to whip it strait off and rushed it out to the kitchen to find the turps. Sat me down in the cafe, offered me a coffee :) even offered to wash my cardigan, how nice was that! But I decided that I would actually take it home and wash it my self, I couldn't bare if anything happened to my fave cardi :( Julie even said let me know if it doesn't come out. I thought wow, that takes customer service to a new high!

After having a brief break in between shopping and the hail, I saw Rani at her work and had a cuppa with her and arranged to catch up with her later in the day. I then went for a wander down to this cute little antique gift shop and met two beautiful Polish ladies, who were quite young and I felt an immediate warmth towards them :) turns out that both of them do Reiki and also one of their husbands, who sang out to me as I introduced myself to them. He was in a little room at the back of the shop, it was filled with all old Lp records and he was playing then on a record player, they sold them in the shop. Such a gorgeous little place. They had one of those really old prams out the front, the ones with the huge wheels, had china dolls in it lol, but everywhere you looked, there was so e little treasure, I could have spent hours in there, but that would have been dangerous, seeing as all as I had money for was a card! Ok time to go home for a rest me thinks and a cup of tea :)

Sunday is becoming a day of sleeping in a bit these past few weeks, I must be feeling a little exhausted with work, so my little treat is to have a little lay in, as the bed is way too cosey for one :) and I know that getting up, I'm going to get cold! But I HAVE to get up don't I, the toilet is calling me, no matter how much I try and lay there, the feeling won't pass! Quick dash to the loo and run back to bed jump in, mmmm nice and cosey, only problem is I'm awake now, and my spare pillow is cold, so not going to hug that :( Get up woman! Quick, where are my socks, where is my scarf, two tops another jacket, pants, finally warm! Kettle on, let's get busy and make some soup for my brunch :) get some healthy veggies to roast, put them in the oven, getting the lunches organised for the week.

Yummy roast Sweet Potato, parsnip and carrot to add to to my salads this week with a few nuts :)

Soup of the week

Nothing nicer than some chicken and veggie broth :)

This afternoon I rang Lizzie and we went to Stratton The Fosse again, then we walked to Halcombe village and back, we had a beautiful walk, we walked just short of 4 mile today :) good effort!

We thoroughly enjoy taking photo's along our walks, so you will see lots of flowers along our walk, I forgot the camera today :( so only my phone to take shots today.

I loved this flower!

Saw this at the local mechanic in Halcombe :) Halcombe village was moved after the ww1 it use to be a couple of miles away near the local church, but the Black Plague almost wiped the entire village out, so they moved the village away to a new area, which is the Halcombe Village now.

Colours of Spring.
Lizzie, my photography buddy :)

Downside Catholic School, Stratton On The Fosse

Pretty!

Don't know what this building is? But it's pretty old :)

The Kings Arms at Stratton

After a long long walk through the countryside, ducking and diving and avoiding being run over by cars speeding on little lanes, Lizzie and I thought we so deserved a little reward of half a Thatcher's Gold (ciderrrrr) that's what we drink in these ere part's of zommerzet lol

Well my lovely friends and family, after a long week, it's time for me to have some relax time, listening to some music of the 70's and 60's on telly at the moment. Shhhhhhh not saying I know any of these songs, that is all, but shit they are wearing a lot of the clothes I use to wear lol just watching Joe Cocker, he was quite cute way back then :)

Until my next blog, love to you all xxxx Happy birthday Jan when you read this today :) xxx love you heaps and my Rob, on Wednesday xxx hope to ring you xxx (hope you have fun with your dad on his 60th!)
