No sooner had I got home Friday night, had I collapsed on the couch, normally I have a little power nap, but for some reason, It lasted about three hours, I woke up and even the telly had decided to turn itself off lol no wait a minute, it's not 1am, it's actually 2am, have to put the clocks forward, so have lost another hour! I creep around the house, trying not to wake myself up too much, head to bed to try and fall back asleep. Wouldn't you know it my built in body alarm clock, decides it's time to get up at 5am, which was actually 6ish my normal get up for work time. Oh well, I guess it's time for a nice cuppa and I'm cold, so I find my wool hat and gloves ans socks and crawl back into bed, (I have to tell you, not the most desirable look :( I often wonder why I haven't found my beautiful soulmate, perhaps if he were to see me in this get up, he is likely to say, this wasn't in the plan!) I have my nice warm cuppa and then guess who falls back to sleep?
I eventually wake up and have a lovely nice hot shower and hunt in the cupboards and fridge for what might be my brunch :) hmmmm slim pickings, I really need to go shopping, the cupboard and fridge are empty! I manage to find some eggs, found some Almond Milk, and I have some Paleo friendly flour, have a banana, so I make a decision on pancakes :) yummmm I have totally perfected my Paleo recipe and they are very healthy and tasty, they even fluff up this time and as usual, I make too many, so there is another meal there :) I have learnt my lesson, never go shopping on an empty stomach! Not only will you want to eat everything in sight, but you will probably buy double the shopping you intended to buy from your list. Yes I have to have a list, and put the blinkers on, dive into Tesco's for my speciality items, and not be tempted! Today I am heading to my favourite shops in Wells :) will go have a cuppa with my friend's in the sandwich cafe, Rosie and Mick :) I walk down through the markets and thank goodness I ate at home, as the smell of food cooking, is so wonderful, I could have easily treated myself today :) I raid the ATM and head off in the opposite direction, a quick dash to the PoundShop, get a few bargain's :) Got to love the Pound Shop! Thanks to Helen for telling me where to find all the bargains, when you're living on a shoestring! I can cut down on so much, but I Can't cut down on the important things in life, like toilet paper! Lol There is no way I am going to use recycled cardboard! Fortunately the PoundShop has a good dunny paper :)
I head to Lidl for the remainder of he shopping, wonder why every man, woman and child is out shopping the same time as me :( Ah yes, UK Mothers Day tomorrow, I thought there were just a lot of beautiful men buying flowers for their wives or girlfriends. I am going to make a treat this weekend, share it with Ange, so hopefully we can catch up while the rest of Britain is out and about with their mum's tomorrow. I made some Paleo brownies and took some over to Ange' and we had a cuppa and I gave her a container to give to her Mum for Sunday and there were a few left over that we had to just test :) mmmm very nice, if I do say myself. We then sat and relaxed with a cuppa and watched the Voice and suddenly became the experts on the musical world, there are some really good contestants this year. I didn't stay too long, went home and settled in for the night, have planned to go for a drive tomorrow with Ange see her Mum and then go spent the day outside, as the weather is going to be perfect :).
Headed out to see Ange' mum and her partner and when we got there, she had put a roast on and was expecting us for lunch :) what a lovely surprise. We all had a nice chat out in the conservatory over lunch and then after inspecting the front garden and taking a few pics, we headed off for Sherborne.
Ange and her Mum Margaret in her colourful garden :)
Happy Mother's Day :)
Spring is here!
White blossom
Now that is old!
The Sherborne Cathedral was amazing, took a lot of pics, inside and out :) reminds me inside of the one in Wells :)
These trees were very interesting, against the back drop of the Cathedral.
Wouldn't like to paint that ceiling!
Cate, how would you like to play that organ?
Pick what doesn't fit in this pic?
Not your everyday butcher, he has a bike in his shop!
I can see a bit of a queue here lol only joking, they have all been taken inside!
After a good look around Sherborne, we headed up the hill to another lovely village called Montacute, some very cute old buildings, not all turned out. We also looked around the National Trust building, but after discovering that we only had half an hour to see it all and had to pay £16 each we decided that we would leave it for another day. It is actually a far better thing to join up for the National Trust, only pay around £58 per year, so that might be something to look into, when I'm in the money :)Got to love the pitch on so e of these roofs :) The walls weren't exactly straight either!
Well my lovelies, now that I have bored you with my photography, I will head off to bed. I start work with the Banes Council tomorrow and have to be in at work for a meeting with Mary, before we have our induction as we will have a meeting with the Family Information Services, we have to give them a bit of a briefing of how to cope with all the canals for us, in the transfer, as things will be a little bit up in the air for a while.
When I got to work today, Mary had bought me some flowers :) for all my work Friday and all last week. I am looking at them now, it was a pleasant surprise, thanks Mary.
Off to bed now people, until next post, lots of love to you all xxxxxx
