Ali wearing the "birthday" hat, which We all hated wearing lol, yet he still had a smile for me :)
I'm glad I took these pic's now as Victoria on left is home with her beautiful baby Alice, now Ali has gone and Ceri leaves us this Friday :(
It was so nice to socialise and catch up with Harry and Alex, both whom had left in the last couple of weeks :) Alex is or was my Aussie Buddy from Melbourne :) I think it was timely event after the week we have had, mine has been a bit crazy with the countdown of the closure of work coming down to the wire, with only one more week to go now, loads of things to do, thousand of things to organise, lists as long as my arm! Not enough hours in the day! But on a good note, only one more week of it before the computers go and the phones, I have about 22 bags of shredding to throw out come Tuesday, looks like a mountain of snow shredding in the back room, probably the same amount to come for next week! this coming week is going to be transferring data onto media so that we can take it with us to the Council, so I have already done a test run last week and that went well. We have had to clean up a lot of our files, as we only have a 16gb, but it's a relief to know that it will all work and come together. It's been a very cold weekend this weekend, lots of Hail and I even thought that we might even get some snow, it had that kind of feel. Seeing as I have turned off my heating, I spent most of the weekend dressed like an Eskimo lol? I hear that Perth were hit with storms too, I hear you had some rain :)
Saturday was shopping day as usual, I decided to go for a change and went into Shepton Mallet and went to this lovely gourmet deli shop that has all my speciality items that I have been finding it hard getting in Lidl or Tesco's. Julie, the owner of Pepper's (which is it's name) was bending over backwards to help me which was great, it seems I won't have to travel all the way to Glastonbury to get what I need now, so may save some petrol. Only problem was, I had a slight problem walking out of the shop, guess who didn't see the "wet paint" on the door :( I had my favourite green cardi on too! They were so apologetic, wanted me to whip it strait off and rushed it out to the kitchen to find the turps. Sat me down in the cafe, offered me a coffee :) even offered to wash my cardigan, how nice was that! But I decided that I would actually take it home and wash it my self, I couldn't bare if anything happened to my fave cardi :( Julie even said let me know if it doesn't come out. I thought wow, that takes customer service to a new high!
After having a brief break in between shopping and the hail, I saw Rani at her work and had a cuppa with her and arranged to catch up with her later in the day. I then went for a wander down to this cute little antique gift shop and met two beautiful Polish ladies, who were quite young and I felt an immediate warmth towards them :) turns out that both of them do Reiki and also one of their husbands, who sang out to me as I introduced myself to them. He was in a little room at the back of the shop, it was filled with all old Lp records and he was playing then on a record player, they sold them in the shop. Such a gorgeous little place. They had one of those really old prams out the front, the ones with the huge wheels, had china dolls in it lol, but everywhere you looked, there was so e little treasure, I could have spent hours in there, but that would have been dangerous, seeing as all as I had money for was a card! Ok time to go home for a rest me thinks and a cup of tea :)
Sunday is becoming a day of sleeping in a bit these past few weeks, I must be feeling a little exhausted with work, so my little treat is to have a little lay in, as the bed is way too cosey for one :) and I know that getting up, I'm going to get cold! But I HAVE to get up don't I, the toilet is calling me, no matter how much I try and lay there, the feeling won't pass! Quick dash to the loo and run back to bed jump in, mmmm nice and cosey, only problem is I'm awake now, and my spare pillow is cold, so not going to hug that :( Get up woman! Quick, where are my socks, where is my scarf, two tops another jacket, pants, finally warm! Kettle on, let's get busy and make some soup for my brunch :) get some healthy veggies to roast, put them in the oven, getting the lunches organised for the week.
Yummy roast Sweet Potato, parsnip and carrot to add to to my salads this week with a few nuts :)
Soup of the week
Nothing nicer than some chicken and veggie broth :)
This afternoon I rang Lizzie and we went to Stratton The Fosse again, then we walked to Halcombe village and back, we had a beautiful walk, we walked just short of 4 mile today :) good effort!
We thoroughly enjoy taking photo's along our walks, so you will see lots of flowers along our walk, I forgot the camera today :( so only my phone to take shots today.
Saw this at the local mechanic in Halcombe :) Halcombe village was moved after the ww1 it use to be a couple of miles away near the local church, but the Black Plague almost wiped the entire village out, so they moved the village away to a new area, which is the Halcombe Village now.

Pretty!
Don't know what this building is? But it's pretty old :)

After a long long walk through the countryside, ducking and diving and avoiding being run over by cars speeding on little lanes, Lizzie and I thought we so deserved a little reward of half a Thatcher's Gold (ciderrrrr) that's what we drink in these ere part's of zommerzet lolWell my lovely friends and family, after a long week, it's time for me to have some relax time, listening to some music of the 70's and 60's on telly at the moment. Shhhhhhh not saying I know any of these songs, that is all, but shit they are wearing a lot of the clothes I use to wear lol just watching Joe Cocker, he was quite cute way back then :)
