But today, I looked out the window, at the ducks on the pond and there were some soft fluffy clouds and the occasional grey cloud, but I could see the sun trying to come out, so after having a nice sleep in and then breakfast, having a bit of a chat with Sheila, my landlady's mother about travelling around the world, we were talking about USA and Canada and she said, "you have done a lot of travel, haven't you?" I didn't really think that I had, but I did think about this for a moment and then I was forever grateful for the travelling that I have been able to do in this lifetime! I know I am very fortunate to have this opportunity that I have right now. There is still so much on my bucket list, that I want to see, so much I want to do! I think with the job that I have and being in the funeral industry, it does make you much more appreciate of life, as I see death, every single day of my working week. Only this week, I had a call from a policeman, asking me if I could come and "collect" a deceased man who had gone out to his car, from the pub, at lunch time as he wasn't feeling well and suddenly passed away in his car. It proves that life is short and can be over in the blink of an eye for some, when they least expect it, it doesn't mean we have to go all out to go crazy, but it does mean, don't put off doing what you dream of doing. The world is your oyster as they say, anything is possible, you only need belief and faith in yourself.
I still remember something my Aunty Gill said to me when I was 18 or so, she said she was so proud of me at the time, I was flying up to Northern Territory, I didn't have a job, I didn't know a soul, but I knew that I would be ok. If she only knew deep down I was trembling inside a little with the fear of the unknown, but once I got there, and I went to the hotel where I was staying, I applied for a job and got it, I then went looking for permanent place to live and so it started my journey of believing in anything is possible. I guess this cycle is repeating itself again now, I had a few challenges coming here, but it will be two years in May that I have been in the UK! (Do you miss me yet?)
One thing is sure, I certainly haven't become more financial! I honestly don't know how the English survive on a single wage, but I didn't come here to make my millions! This was my country change/sea change/job change whatever you like to call it, it is my time to see as much as I can, to meet and to experience as much as I can and Gail if your reading this, I just had a little chuckle to myself, thought of that little clip you sent me about the dancing, the oldie doing the Salsa! Yep that's me, well I did do an outdoor salsa class in Bournemouth, last year :) I am looking at finding a dance partner this year, so that is going to be some fun.
I am also looking at going away at Easter, I am going to Ambleside, The Lakes District. About a 4 3/4 hour road trip from here, so I will be driving up nice and early :) The weather will be spring then, the little sparrows will be in the hedges and all the leaves will be coming back on the hedges and trees and it will be a pretty picture. I am walking distance to the lake, so might even do a boat Cruize :)
Today's road trip was from my home in Westbury, Wiltshire to Tetbury which is up in Gloucestershire near Chippenham. What a cute little place, I eventually found a car park and parked, then when I got out the car, I absolutely froze! Thank god I took my gloves and my hat and scarf! It was definately a hat day today, that wind went straight through me. I don't care what I look like in my beenie lol as long as my ears don't hurt from the wind.
I was destined to go to Tetbury today and I thank whoever helped my car there :) as I walked around the corner in the Main Street, I walked into this shop which I found Robert's 30th Birthday present :) so I was so happy! I have been worried for weeks and thinking, what am I going to get my kids for their Birthdays? My beautiful Helen has just turned 27 and I found something special for her, which she loved :) I can't wait till Rob see's it now. I feel sad that I am not going to be with them for their birthdays this year, but hopefully we might see each other later in the year, Rob is looking at taking a holiday, so that would be nice and it might mean an early 60th celebration for me! Lol
Some pics in and around Tetbury
Look what I found Rob :)
OMG look at the size of these!
When I got home, Hail on the door step!
Snow in Westbury!
A few lovely things that happened through the week, I got to see Hayley from Switzerland and her Fiancé Beat who came to see her mum and we all went out for dinner in Wells :) it was so lovely to see them and I am very excited for them, starting a family, so I am hoping to get a trip over there next year, best start saving :)
My gorgeous girl turned 27, I didn't get to celebrate with her, but I do aim to catch up on all the celebration's that we miss, whilst we are apart :)
Well it's past midnight here now, so I will say goodnight and send my love to you all, until my next blog. ( which I hope won't be as long since the last!) xxxx
